A Cat in the WinterCold

i can not speak because of pain
gave away all defense
not only in words
so now i have been left
with only words
i can not speak because of pain
i wander around
shivering in cold
with only one aim: warmth
so i stumble upon
thresholds
into the kitchens
and onto sofas
none of them is mine
from all i must move
the wandering cat
looking for warmth
of fire lit in the fire place
hot tea with honey
warm meals and blankets
.. slippers of my own
boots break, the snow is thick
on i wander, on i look
at warm light from windows
not mine
on i go, walking
crying, trying to laugh sincerely
always looking
feeling lost, left, abandoned
strong, determined, proud
walking
dreaming
of words being spoken, heard
of speaking those words myself
to those like me, many, too many
in silence.. in lack
- without the key
for it needs words to bring light and air
to bring life, the flow of faith
the wandering cat
i can see in the dark
alone, wandering, the cold
yet i see
alone, shivering, abandoned
i wait
broken, despaired, in need
i know
in two
is to be
a cat wandering in the winter cold
