One month. 50,000 words. An adventure you'll never forget. Are you writing a novel this November?
Kirjeldus
National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing on November 1. The goal is to write a 50,000 word, (approximately 175 page) novel by 11:59:59, November 30.

Valuing enthusiasm and perseverance over painstaking craft, NaNoWriMo is a novel-writing program for everyone who has thought fleetingly about writing a novel but has been scared
away by the time and effort involved.

Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.

Make no mistake: You will be writing a lot of crap. And that's a good thing. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes. To forgo the endless tweaking and editing and just create. To build without tearing down.

As you spend November writing, you can draw comfort from the fact that, all around the world, other National Novel Writing Month participants are going through the same joys and sorrows of producing the Great Frantic Novel. Wrimos meet throughout the month to offer encouragement, commiseration, and—when the thing is done—the kind of raucous celebrations that tend to frighten animals and small children.

In 2010, we had over 200,000 participants. More than 35,000 of them crossed the 50K finish line by the midnight deadline, entering into the annals of NaNoWriMo superstardom forever. They started the month as auto mechanics, out-of-work actors, and middle school English teachers. They walked away novelists."

- that is some of NaNoWriMo´s goodness from their Facebook page and yes, I am taking part this year. That being my first and I do have a story in mind.. but there´s a problem. It´s a dream or a vision or something written down covers exactly 26 pages in a notebook and is the concentrate of the story - how to getfrom 26 pages to 50 K ... ???!!!! OK, enough with the panicking and one wth a brief introduction of the story in mind. I´d call it the dream trilogy, because I was shown the covers and backs of 3 volumes of this story in a dream. Maybe I´ve mentioned here before, maybe not. Anyways I had this dream about 3 years ago after watching Return of the King, so the scenery is much like the one of Rohan and horses play a great role on depicting the mindset, but the rest is pretty much not LOTR. Pretty dark and depressive, but full of light nonetheless. So.. I do not know how much free time I´m going to have to post here on my blog during The National Novel Writing Month, November .. so.. all the best to You all and wish me luck xD
